Today was Krispy Kreme Prattville's grand opening and ribbon cutting with the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce. I was happy to work the last two days with such kind and energetic people. Photographing events like these is always so much fun! I was so excited to get this job as I could already see the pictures in my head prior to even shooting. I love the nostalgic feeling that Krispy Kreme has and not to mention the green, white and red colors- and okay yes, I LOVE the doughnuts too!!
What a great turnout for the ribbon cutting! Representatives from many local business were there to show support and welcome Krispy Kreme to the community- even Prattville Mayor Gillespie was there!
Some of my favorite photos from the day can be seen here...
Jennifer Gracin Photography is super excited to be working with Krispy Kreme for their grand opening in Prattville! Tomorrow, Tuesday April 24th is the grand opening and ribbon cutting with the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce! The first 100 customers will receive free doughuts for 1 year! The festivities began tonight with people lined up since 3 pm today with plans to camp out till tomorrow morning and Jennifer Gracin Photography was there to capture all the excitement!!
I had such a great time photographing Shelbie. At first I could tell she was nervous in front of the camera- which I can completely relate to! But, I knew she was going to rock this session! After a couple shots and me almost dying after looking in the back of the camera- I knew it was on! She was a natural in front of the camera and having her mom there was such a big help! Mom had some great ideas and I always love when the client or the parents throw ideas at me during the session! Not only did mom have great ideas- but she did the hair and make up for Shelbie! If you ever need hair and make up done I HIGHLY recommend her professional services- Carmen Darden, master cosmetologist and owner at The Collective in Prattville. Now, mom and I plan to work together on future projects- I'm so excited!!
We chose downtown Prattville for our photoshoot location and I couldn't be happier with the results!! So many different looks can be achieved shooting downtown!! Shelbie is a senior at Prattville High School and will graduate this May. She will attend Auburn University- Montgomery in the fall with plans to be a NICU nurse in the future. I'm excited for her and what the future holds!
Remember 2018 SENIORS- it's not too late for you session!!
In less than 3 months, Jennifer Gracin Photography will be on the move again! As part of my preparation to move my photography business to Wichita Fall, TX, I have been been trying to find good photo shoot locations in Wichita Falls, updating my website and ordering new products. This military life is exciting, but also can be very challenging as well- especially when. you are trying to run your own business! I have closed down and reopened my business 5 times already- you could say I'm an expert at it! I learn something new and make necessary changes with each opening and closing I will definitely miss Prattville and the clients I have come to know. My business has had the most growth in the almost 2 years we have been here so that is definitely hard to walk away from. However, I can always fly back for a long weekend to for photo shoots if needed!! ;)
I thought I would share one of my very first high school seniors from about 10 years ago! I'll never forget walking around downtown Sand Pedro, CA with Katie and her mom. We had so much fun! It was then that I knew photographing seniors was my thing! For some reason I didn't believe in myself enough back then to pursue it head on as my specialty. I know that I have let being a military spouse with 3 little ones hold me back, but yet at the same time I purposely held back some so I could be more available for my family. It's a difficult balance. But now with the kids being older and I with much more experience and belief in myself, I am ready for this new chapter in our lives and my business! Wichita Falls here we come!!!
Susan will graduate from Prattville High School this May 2018. She did such an amazing job for her senior portrait session! She is extremely athletic and it on a rare occasion that she gets "all done up". For her session we decided we wanted do a bit of both- casual and very dressy! Susan's hair and make up was done by her best friend Giselle Ramirez and it looked fabulous!! The location we decided on was Jackson Lake Island in Millbrook, as this is a favorite place for her to visit with her family- not to mention it makes for some seriously awesome backdrops!!
Throughout her high school career, Susan has participated in lacrosse, soccer, cross country and track. She is also a triathlete and has qualified for Team USA in her age group! In September, she will compete with Team USA at the ITU Standard Distance World Championships in Australia!! Now that is pretty amazing!!! As for future education, she plans to attend the University of Alabama Huntsville on a full academic scholarship to study engineering!! WOW!!!! This girl is headed for big things!! Her dedication to her education and her athletics has definitely paid off! If we can get our timing right and coordinate our schedules, we have plans to do another photo shoot together which highlights her athleticism!
Here are some favorites from the session...
