Earlier this summer, I had the most amazing photoshoot in downtown Prattville with these two sweet brothers and their beautiful momma, Marika! I feel very honored that I was able to work with this family. There is quite a story behind these two brothers. Both of these boys were adopted from an orphanage in Ethiopia by the Scotts, a fellow military family we had the pleasure of meeting this summer. Sometimes in life we meet people and we just know or have a feeling their is something special about them. That is how I felt when I met Marika- and then I learned about her family and was in awe! 

Bekam is 4 years old and was adopted when he was just 11 months old. Marika and her husband, Winfield had to travel to Africa to attend court as part of Bekam's adoption process. While on that trip, they met Bron who was then 13 years old and living in the same orphanage as Bekam. They ended up falling in love with Bron as well and ended up adopting both boys!! What an amazing couple to open their hearts, their family and their home to accept and love these two boys!! Now these boys along with their sisters,  Jaden 10,  and Pya 7 will travel together as a family of 6 living the U.S. military lifestyle for some years to come. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to meet this family and capture this special moment in time for them!
